Mini Unikko
“No flower patterns,” the head of Marimekko, Armi Ratia, commands.
“Why not?”
“Because they can never match the beauty of a real flower.”
But designer Maija Isola dares to dream. She finds inspiration in beauty, spontaneity, and feeling. Let the flowers bloom! And Unikko springs to life. Bright colors. Bold shapes. Simple lines. Armi's eyes open wide. Unikko blooms in homes everywhere and quickly becomes a favorite. Later on, Maija’s daughter, Kristina Isola, expands the vision with Mini-Unikko. It is a condensed version of the original, with smaller and more frequent flowers.
